Building the visual foundation for a Nijmegen-based music podcast through branding, logo design and content templates.

20kHz is a podcast based in Nijmegen focused on electronic music and the culture surrounding it. The platform highlights artists and their podcast recordings.

To launch the podcast with a recognizable identity, the team needed a brand that visually represented their sound, values and the audience they wanted to attract.
challenge
As a new podcast, 20kHz did not yet have a clear visual identity or consistent way of presenting itself online.

The challenge was to translate the personality and musical direction of the podcast into a brand identity that felt authentic to the scene while remaining clear and recognizable across different platforms.
Approach
To build a strong foundation for the brand, I started with a structured branding questionnaire to better understand the podcast’s vision.

Together we explored questions around:

the overall atmosphere and visual vibe of the brand

Based on these insights, I guided the team in creating a moodboard that translated their ideas into a clear visual direction while preventing the branding from becoming chaotic or inconsistent.

Execution
Using the insights gathered during the branding process, I developed the visual foundation of the 20kHz brand. This included designing the logo, which represents the identity and character of the podcast.

In addition, I created reusable templates for Instagram carousels and stories, allowing the podcast to present episodes and content in a consistent way.
​
To support the podcast’s video content, I also designed a YouTube template, ensuring the brand identity remains recognizable across different platforms.

The project resulted in a clear and recognizable brand identity that allows 20kHz to present itself consistently across its social media and video platforms.

With a structured brand foundation, logo and reusable templates, the team now has the tools to communicate their content in a professional and cohesive way as the podcast continues to grow.
